Meghan Markle To Publish Book 'The Bench', Inspired By Prince Harry And Archie

Meghan Markle is all set to make her debut as a book author with her first children’s book titled The Bench. The former Duchess of Sussex penned the book about the relationship between Prince Harry and their first child Archie, which will be published on June 8, 2021.

Markle’s debut book "captures the evolving and expanding relationship between fathers and sons" as witnessed through a mother’s eyes.

Meghan Markle on The Bench 

In a statement, Meghan mentioned that The Bench started as a poem she wrote for her husband on Father’s Day, in the following month of Archie’s birth.

"That poem became this story. Christian layered in beautiful and ethereal watercolour illustrations that capture the warmth, joy, and comfort of the relationship between fathers and sons from all walks of life."

"This representation was particularly important to me, and Christian and I worked closely to depict this special bond through an inclusive lens,” the statement read.

“My hope is that The Bench resonates with every family, no matter the makeup, as much as it does with mine," Markle added.

However, Markle has prior experience as a writer. She has a lifestyle blog to her credit named The Tig, which she ran before marrying into the royal family. Also, she has penned an essay on the stigma surrounding periods published in Time Magazine.

The Bench, which features watercolour illustrations by bestselling artist Christian Robinson, is being published by Random House Children’s Books. Meghan Markle will flaunt her storytelling skills as well in the audiobook.

The British Royal couple- Meghan Markle and Prince Harry- are expecting their second child, a baby girl, in the coming months. Meghan Markle’s child will be the first-ever royal baby to be born in the US.

The Royals gave up their titles earlier this year their responsibilities and duties that come with a life of public service.
