The Uttar Pradesh Madhyamik Shiksha Parishad or UP Board had to issue a clarification regarding class 10 and 12 exams. This happened after a 'fake' schedule for the exams started going viral on social media.
The UP Board Secretary Divyakant Shukla in a press conference stated: “An examination schedule of UP Board high school and intermediate exam to be held between June 5 and 25 went viral on social media on May 17 is bogus and fake. We request everyone to ignore it. The board will lodge an FIR against all those who will be found guilty of spreading fake news.”
According to the fake exam schedule, the exam was supposed to be held from June 5 to June 25. It also said that the exam will be held keeping all the COVID-19 protocols in mind.
This comes after the UP government decided to postpone the class 12 exams, and cancel the class 10 exams due to the COVID-19 situation.
The UP Board is among the largest state boards in the country. About 56 lakh students have already registered for the board exams this year. Around 30 lakh students have applied for Class 12 exams and, 6 lakh students for Class 10 board exams.
Students are now waiting for the release of the official notification regarding the exam schedule.
Besides Uttar Pradesh, many states across India such as Madhya Pradesh, Gujrat, Karnataka have postponed their class 12 and cancelled the class 10 exams.
