Shivraj Singh Chouhan, the chief minister of Madhya Pradesh announced the cancellation of the MP Board class 12 exams, on Wednesday.
Chouhan posted a video on his official Twitter handle, in which he said that the lives of students in such a situation is more precious. He also said that no mental burden can be put on them, amid the current COVID-19 situation.

The board will now come up with assessment criteria to evaluate class 12 students.
MP Board class 12 exams were postponed
On Wednesday, the decision regarding the MP Board class 12 exams was made during a meeting of the state's education department. The minister of Madhya Pradesh School Education and several officers of the department attended the meeting.
The MP Board class 12 exams, was scheduled to be conducted between May 1 and May 21 this year but was postponed due to the COVID-19 situation. The state government had then stated that the board exam will be held, as soon as the pandemic eases down.
Madhya Pradesh's state government had already cancelled the class 10 examinations, which were supposed to be held from April 30 to May 19. The government said that students will have to be evaluated based on their performance in the half-yearly exams, pre-boards, unit test, and internal assessment.
Class 10 students can now expect their results by June-end, or July 2021.
CBSE, ICSE class 12 exams cancelled
The decision regarding the Madhya Pradesh's class 12 exams, comes after the centre cancelled the CBSE class 12 exams on Tuesday. This decision was made in a meeting, which was chaired by Prime Minister Narendra Modi, which was attended by many senior cabinet ministers.
This decision was welcomed by Madhya Pradesh's education minister, Inder Singh Parmar.
The decision to cancel the CBSE class 12 exams came as a huge relief for numerous students and parents across the country.
Shortly, after the CBSE exams got cancelled, the Council for the Indian School Certificate Examinations (CISCE) announced the cancellation of its class 12 exams.
