The Indian Army's Technical Entry Scheme (TES) 46th course registration will commence in July-August. The TES exam is conducted by National Testing Agency (NTA).
The course is scheduled to begin in January 2022. Candidates must have qualified Joint Entrance Exam (JEE) Main as it is compulsory. The April and May session for the same have been put on hold so far due to the rising cases of COVID-19 in the country.

What is the eligibility criteria?
- Candidates should have passed 10 and 12th board exams, from recognised boards, with a minimum percentage of 70 in three subjects: Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics. The calculation of percentage obtained in the said three subjects will be based only on class 12th marks.
- Candidates must have passed the JEE Main, which is taken after class 12th.

After applicants pass the exam, they are made to go through five years of training divided in two phases. In Phase I, basic military training is given for one year at Officer's Training Academy in Gaya. In Phase II, three years of technical training is given at CME Pune, MCEME Secunderabad or MCTE Mhow. It is called pre-commission training. Then another one year is for post-commission training.
