ICSE board exams postponed: The Indian Certificate of Secondary Education (ICSE) decided to postpone board exams for Classes 10 and 12. The new dates for the board exams will be announced on June 1, after the COVID-19 situation is reviewed.
The Council for the Indian School Certificate Examinations (CISCE) gave students of class 10 the option to appear for the board exam. If the class 10 student chooses to opt-out of the written exams, then they will have to appear for written exams at a later date.
On April 14, the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) cancelled board exams for class 10 and postponed board exams for class 12. CISCE postponed the ICSE exams for class 10 and ISC exams for class 12. For class 10 students, the board exams were scheduled between May 4 and June 7. For class 12 students, the board exams were scheduled to be conducted between April 8 and June 18. Nearly 3 lakh students are registered to appear for the ICSE board exams and the ISC board exams.
In light of the nationwide surge in COVID19 cases, CISCE has decided to defer the ICSE Classes 10 and 12 examinations; the final decision on new dates of examination will be taken by the 1st week of June 2021 pic.twitter.com/nP1mchXO7b

When the ICSE board exams had been cancelled in 2020, the students were given marks based on internal assessment. The students were evaluated based on their best subject percentage marks for three of the board exams. Their marks obtained in mid-term exams, practical exams, and projects were also considered.
After the CBSE decided to postpone board exams for class 12 and cancel them for class 10, several state boards also decided to cancel class 10 board exams. None of the boards, excluding the International Baccalaureate (IB) board, cancelled board exams for class 12. The decision to postpone class 12 boards instead of cancelling them was taken as class 12 marks are required for admission to a higher education college.
