Gujarat schools to reopen from February 1: The Education Minister of Gujarat, Bhupendrasunh Chudasama announced that the schools in the state will reopen on February 1 for students of classes 9 and 11.
The state education minister on Wednesday said, "Schools for classes 9 and 11 to start from February 1, following Covid-19 guidelines."
The Central Board of Secondary Education exams in India for class 10 and 12 are going to commence from May 4 and will go on till June 10. The Union Education Minister, Ramesh Pokhriyal had also announced that the results for the board exams will be released on July 15.
Earlier the state had announced the reopening of schools from class 10th and 12th from January 11. In the last 24 hours, Gujarat has reported 380 new positive cases of COVID-19. This makes the total number of infections in the state reach 2,569,867, according to the health department.
The total number of COVID1-9 deaths in the state have been confirmed to be 4,381. About 637 people were also discharged from hospitals in the last 24 hours and the active number of positive cases remain at 4,086 in the state. A total number of 2,51,400, people have recovered from the virus infection till date, according to the statement released by the health department.
