The schools were earlier told to tabulate the marks till Janue 11 and send it to the board so that the results can be announced on June 20. The decision to delay the June 20 deadline was taken because of the COVID-19 induced lockdown in several states and keeping in mind the safety of teachers.
Here is all you need to know about the CBSE guidelines on result tabulation:
- Sanyam Bharadwaj, the Controller of Examinations at CBSE, said, "CBSE accords the highest priority to safety and health of teachers. Keeping in view the situation of the pandemic, lockdown in states and safety of teachers and other staff members of affiliated schools, the board has decided to extend the dates."
- He added that after submitting the tabulations by June 30, the result committees can make their own schedule for other activities based on CBSE provided scheme.
- According to the CBSE policy, the class 10 students will be allotted 20 marks for internal assessment and 80 marks for their performance throughout the year in school activities. This includes tests and other exams they gave throughout the year.
- The board had asked schools to make a result committee with seven teaching staff and the principal of the school. Five out of seven teachers should be from Mathematics, Science, Social Sciences and two languages. The other teachers should be from neighbouring schools as external members of the committee.
- The students who could not appear in most tests, exams throughout the year should be given a chance of online assessment by May 15, according to the board.
The CBSE board exams for class 10 students were cancelled for this year due to the surge in COVID-19 cases in the country. The board exams for Class 12 were postponed until further notice.
