This decision was made, after taking the health and safety of the teachers and staff members into consideration. “CBSE accords highest priority to the safety and health of the teachers...Keeping in view the situation of the pandemic, lockdown in states and safety of teachers and other staff members of the affiliated schools, CBSE has decided to extend the dates," read the official notification. Earlier schools were required to submit CBSE class 10 results by June 11.

Schools had to submit CBSE class 10 results by June 11

The CBSE class 10 results refers to the marks obtained by the students in their board exams, and also internal assessment. This year Class 10 students will be evaluated out of a total 100 marks for each subject. In which, 20 marks will be from internal assessment and 80 will be calculated based on different examinations conducted throughout the year. This happened after the class 10 board exams got cancelled.

Earlier, all CBSE-affiliated schools had to submit the results by June 11, and the results were to be declared by June 20.

The Delhi government had earlier requested the CBSE to review the schedule for CBSE class 10 results compilation. This was because many teachers were already engaged with COVID-19 duties, and many schools are being used as vaccination centres.

Then on May 10, the CBSE came up with the 'e Pareeksha' portal, for uploading the marks obtained by class 10 students. Besides this, the CBSE has directed teachers to be extremely careful while uploading the marks, as they can't be edit or modify the marks once submitted.
