Society might say that motherhood changes a woman’s life completely but women today would beg to differ. Nothing can stop us from focusing on work while raising a child. Simran Oberoi, who returned to work with a newborn baby just after two months of her delivery, is an example of a working mother’s resilience.
Speaking about her decision to prioritise work despite being a new mom, especially during such a critical situation, Oberoi said, “we are a nuclear family, where my husband had to go to work every day. That left me in a situation where I had to manage everything, but it was my own sense of discipline that really helped me balance work with home.” She believes that women can manage both work and home along with their children as long as they have a strong support system so that they have the confidence to perform both their duties to the best of their abilities.
Inspired by Oberoi’s dedication to her duties, Mobility service provider Uber India’s latest campaign #ChalPado and #GoGetIt campaign shows a woman hail an auto using the app from her doorstep, so that she can travel to her office with her newborn, despite the bad weather.
Numerous women like Oberoi balance their duties as mothers and working professionals so that they can set an example that motherhood does not mean the end of a woman’s career. These everyday heroes shouldn’t be celebrated just for their dedication, but also for breaking stereotypes around motherhood, which keeps people from appreciating working moms for all the hard work they put in. Uber extends its support to these multitasking moms who challenge social stigma and break new glass ceilings every day, every moment.
