Bihar Board Results: Bihar Board (BSEB) announced the results of Intermediate boards in the Science, Commerce and Arts stream today. Once again, girls are one step ahead as they dominate all the streams as toppers.
Sonali Kumar obtained 471 marks and became the Science stream topper. In commerce stream too, the topper obtained 471 marks. Surendra Kumari excelled in the Commerce stream, while Madhu Bharti shared the top place with Kailash Kumar in Arts scoring 463 mask.
The state Education Minister of Bihar, Vijay Kumar Chaudhary announced the result at 3pm this afternoon, in the presence of the board chairman Anand Kishore.
The passing percentage of the exam touched 78.04 per cent which is 2.4 per cent less than the previous year result which was 80.44 per cent. The passing percentage of the Arts, Commerce and Science stream touched 77.97, 91.48 and 76.28 per cent respectively.
Since the infamous Bihar Board Intermediate incident of 2016, when the board topper failed to answer basic questions, the state board has started verifying the answer sheets of top-scoring students. This year, however, due to the shortcomings caused by the pandemic, the verification is being done through video-conferencing on WhatsApp.
Bihar Board chairman Anand Kishore has been awarded the Outstanding Educational Leader award by Jagran Josh Education Awards 2021, which was presented by the Education Minister Ramesh Pokriyal Nishank. The award was given to him for his exemplary contribution to the education system during the COVID-19 pandemic.
In the exam, a total number of 13,40,266 students appeared this year, out of which 10,45,950 students passed.
