AIIMS Postpones MBBS Supplementary Exams, Practical Tests

The exams were supposed to take place in May 2021 but now have been deferred with no confirmed dates. They have also released an official notice on their website aiimsexams.ac.in.

AIIMS postpones MBBS Supplementary Exams: On Friday, April 23 AIIMS announced the postponement of undergraduate supplementary exams for MBBS second year and final year students.

All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS) has postponed their undergraduate supplementary exams for second and final year students due to a sharp surge in COVID-19 cases in India. The exams were supposed to take place in May 2021 but now have been deferred with no confirmed dates. They have also released an official notice on their website aiimsexams.ac.in.

In a notification, the Institute said, “In view of the evolving situation related to COVID-19 outbreak and decision of the competent authority in this regard, following supplementary examinations are deferred till further notice."

Along with this, they also added “Dates of practical, clinical, viva-voce exams of above scheduled in May 2021 stands deferred and same will be decided by the competent authority at a later stage and will be announced in due course of time”.

The examination authority will be releasing the revised timetable for May 2021 exams very soon but no official notice has been released regarding the same. MBBS exams were to take place in the months of May and June at the internal examination centers of AIIMS. The examination will be conducted in a Computer-based test and the medium will be in two languages- English and Hindi. Each correct answer is awarded 1 mark and incorrect with -1/3 marks. The paper will include questions from Physics, Chemistry and Biology (10+2 level of CBSE), GK, and Logical Reasoning.

Other exams that got postponed due to COVID-19 cases

Due to the everyday worsening situation around COVID-19 cases various school-level exams, entrance tests, and government exams have been postponed. CBSE and ICSE 12th board examinations have been postponed whereas the 10th board exams stand canceled. The list also includes other entrance tests like JEE Mains for engineering and NEET-PG for medical courses that have also been postponed. Other recruitment exams include UGC-NET and various public service exams.
