Who Is Sangeeta Bahl?

Sangeeta Sindhi Bahl became the oldest Indian woman to climb Mount Everest when she accomplished the milestone at the age of 53. She surpassed Prem Lata's previous record, which she had set in 2011 when she ascended the world's highest mountain (8,848 m) at 48. Bahl is a native of the Jammu and Kashmir region. On her second try, she succeeded in achieving her goal. She had already been evacuated from her attempt to climb Mount Everest in 2017 because of a decline in her health.
Sangeeta Bahl seems to have a specialty in breaking down walls. Her husband had first suggested that she start trekking regularly, and she truly embraced the notion. Mt. Kilimanjaro was the first summit she ascended in 2011. This marked the start of her seven summit journeys in 2018, which included ascents to Mount Vinson, Elbrus, Aconcagua, Kosiousko, and Everest.
Together with her husband, she reached the summit of each of these summits, and they even became the third and fourth Indians to ascend Mount Vinson in Antarctica. Every mountain required a great deal of training because each summit had a different environment and route that needed to be adjusted to. Although her achievement of climbing Mount Everest is a significant accomplishment, she did it in 2018 to become the first woman from Jammu & Kashmir to reach the 53-year-old age mark in India.

Sangeeta was a Miss India finalist in 1985 and is also the founder of Impact Image Consultants in Gurgaon. She has previously worked in the aviation industry and has also designed uniforms for some of the airlines in the country and abroad.
