The long-standing tension between singers Justin Timberlake and Britney Spears, stemming from their past relationship, continues to surface through occasional exchanges on social media. Spears' revelation sparked a backlash against Timberlake, tarnishing his reputation. In response to the attention surrounding the disclosure, Spears issued a direct apology on her Instagram, seemingly attempting to alleviate the tensions between them. However, during a recent concert in New York City, Timberlake made a surprising statement, asserting that he had no intentions of apologising to anyone.

Videos circulating on social media captured Timberlake's bold declaration during his performance, where he proclaimed, "I'd like to take this opportunity to apologise to absolutely nobody," prompting cheers from the audience.

According to the report, initially planned as part of a promotional tour for Timberlake's upcoming album, the 42-year-old singer was set to make appearances at various clubs early next year. According to TMZ, these shows will no longer be taking place.

Despite the ongoing controversy, there is a silver lining for Justin Timberlake, as his former NSYNC bandmates, including Lance Bass, Joey Fatone, Chris Kirkpatrick, and JC Chasez, are standing by him during this turbulent period. They have recently come together to record a song, Better Place, for Timberlake's upcoming Trolls sequel and are expressing their desire for future collaborations with him.

Britney Spears' Revelation On Cheating Scandal & Abortion

Britney Spears has revealed a significant revelation in her much-anticipated memoir, The Woman in Me, set to release on October 24. In this memoir, the 41-year-old pop star shares that she had an abortion during her relationship with Justin Timberlake more than twenty years ago. This memoir also delves into the contentious conservatorship that controlled her life and finances for 14 years.

She reveals the stark contrast between the public's perception of her as a heartbreaker and the reality of Timberlake's actions during their split.

"I was described as a harlot who'd broken the heart of America's golden boy," she wrote. "The truth: I was comatose in Louisiana, and he was happily running around Hollywood. May I just say that on his explosive album and in all the press that surrounded it, Justin neglected to mention the several times he'd cheated on me?"

According to the memoir, Justin Timberlake also  "definitely wasn't happy about the pregnancy.". The excerpt published in People reads, "If it had been left up to me alone, I never would have done it, and yet Justin was so sure that he didn't want to be a father."

She recalled his sentiments, stating that he believed they weren't prepared to welcome a child into their lives and that they were simply too young. Spears added that the experience remains one of the most painful moments of her life to this day. She wrote, "He said ‘we weren't ready to have a baby in our lives, that we were way too young.’ To this day, it's one of the most agonising things I have ever experienced in my life."

Britney Spears and Justin Timberlake's Relationship

Britney Spears and Justin Timberlake's paths first crossed during their preteen years on The Mickey Mouse Club set. They later reconnected in the late '90s as they both embarked on their pop star careers, with Spears as a solo artist and Timberlake as part of the boy band.

After months of denying romance rumours, Spears and Timberlake publicly acknowledged their relationship at the 2000 MTV Video Music Awards. Despite walking the red carpet separately, they sat together during the show, openly displaying affection. Later, in an interview with The Guardian, Spears also shared that their busy schedules often kept them apart. However, when they were together, they lived at her house in L.A. Spears also revealed that Timberlake still gave her butterflies during their two-year relationship.

In 2002, Spears mentioned that she wasn't in an intense relationship, strongly suggesting her breakup with Timberlake. Later, Timberlake sat down for an interview with Barbara Walters on 20/20, where he discussed his breakup with Spears.

Timberlake On Spear's Conservatorship

In 2008, following a widely publicised breakdown, Britney Spears found herself under an unusual legal guardianship, primarily overseen by her father, Jamie. During a court session in 2021, she informed the judge that the conservatorship was obstructing her from having a contraceptive IUD removed, despite her desire to have kids. After Spears' court appearance to terminate the conservatorship that had controlled her life since 2008, Justin Timberlake expressed his support for his former girlfriend through multiple threads on Twitter.

Fans Criticise Timberlake For His Disrespectful Remarks On Spears After Breakup

In addition to the recently unveiled revelation that had been concealed until now, for those unaware, after the breakup, Timberlake made disrespectful remarks about their relationship and Spears, and now fans are criticising Timberlake for his past behaviour, unearthing old videos in which he boasted about being intimate with Spears.

Social media users are branding Timberlake as "disgusting" and charging him with exploiting Spears and causing her emotional distress.

7 years after they broke up, when Britney was already on an illegal conservatorship & had her children taken away, Justin Timberlake was still exploiting Britney’s sexual life knowing very well she once was pregnant with him and he convinced her to have an abortion, he’s the devil pic.twitter.com/FAxtnRbpZh

You can dismiss Britney Spears saying that Justin Timberlake pressured her into an abortion as silly gossip, but then add that to objectification (bragging publicly about taking her virginity) and then slut shaming (Cry Me a River) to sell an album. UGH. pic.twitter.com/yBB6B7zDml

Moreover, fans claim that Timberlake publicly mentioned her name and made disrespectful comments about her while she had undergone an abortion of their baby at the time. However, wanting a kid, not wanting a kid, does not justify Justin Timberlake's actions, where he publicly objectified and demeaned Spears. Timberlake publicly boasted about taking Spears' virginity, which is a deeply private and personal matter. Sharing such details without consent or respect is a blatant invasion of anyone's privacy, whether male or female. Many clips also claim that Timberlake's actions were motivated by financial gain. Exploiting his past relationship with Spears for album sales and personal success demonstrates again shameful human behaviour, which took a toll on her mental health, and it's unjustifiable.
