Watch: 10-Year-Old Delhi Boy Runs Roadside Food Cart After Father's Demise

In a viral social media video, the boy revealed that his father recently died from brain tuberculosis and his mother left him and his sister, refusing to take their responsibility.

Stories of courage are not restricted to the pages of books. If you explore, they manifest even on the streets next to your home. This is proven right by a 10-year-old boy who sells rolls on the streets of Tilak Vihar in west Delhi. Jaspreet is carrying forward his father's legacy who recently died due to brain tuberculosis. The young boy immediately took on the responsibility of the house and didn't let his father's expertise die.

Jaspreet and his stall were discovered by a food vlogger, Sarabjit Singh known as imrsinghfoodhunter on Instagarm. He had a conversation with Jaspreet whose video he uploaded on a social media website. The video has gone viral melting people's hearts at the courage and resilience of Jaspreet at such a small age. The video has already garnered nine million views, 9.57 lakh 'likes' and nearly 27,000 comments.

The story of Jaspreet

In the video, Jaspreet talks about the various kinds of rolls he can make including chicken rolls, kabab rolls paneer rolls, chowmein rolls and seekh kabab rolls. While making one of these rolls, Jaspreet says that he learnt the skills to make these rolls from his father. 

He further reveals that he has an elder sister who is 14 years old. The duo have been living with their uncle in Delhi after their mother went to Punjab.

When the food vlogger asks Jaspreet the source of his determination and courage to face the adversities in his life, he smiles and says encouraging words in Punjabi, translated as "I am the son of Guru Gobind Singh ji. Will fight as long as I have the strength."

Anand Mahindra responds to the video and extends support

The video caught the attention of influential people who expressed their support and the will to help Jaspreet. 

One of them is Anand Mahindra who took to micro-blogging website X and wrote, "Courage, thy name is Jaspreet. But his education shouldn’t suffer. I believe, he’s in Tilak Nagar, Delhi. If anyone has access to his contact number please do share it. The Mahindra foundation team will explore how we can support his education."

Moreover, BJP leader Tajinder Bagga also extended support and said, “Will meet him and try to help.”
