Who is Ayesha Shroff: Tiger Shroff and Disha Patani have reportedly been booked by the Mumbai police for violating COVID-19 safety protocols. Ayesha Shroff took to Instagram to comment on the case and defended her son.

As per ANI reports, actors Disha Patani and Tiger Shroff have been booked by the Mumbai police for violating the COVID-19 norms currently in place in the city. During Maharashtra’s lockdown, citizens are allowed to step out only for essential purposes. The timing for gathering essential commodities also remains between 7 am and 2 pm.

The actors were found roaming at Bandstand Promenade & couldn't give a valid reasons to police for being out of their homes after 2 pm

The two actors were reportedly roaming without any valid reason after 2 pm. Pantani and Shroff were found in Bandstand Promenade by the police. After this, the duo was reportedly registered under Section 188 (Disobeying the order of public servant) of the Indian Penal Code (IPC). Read more on that here.

Ayesha Shroff, mother of Tiger Shroff took to Instagram to defend her son after the news of FIR being filed surfaced online. She claimed that the couple was heading home and the police were simply checking their Aadhaar cards.

Ayesha said that media outlets should get their facts right before spreading news like this. However, the official  Mumbai Police has posted a tweet regarding the duo being booked without naming them. In a creative twist, the police mentioned the films they starred in instead of their names.

Who Is Ayesha Shroff?

• Ayesha Shroff is a film producer, former model and actor. She got married to actor Jackie Shroff in 1987 and is  mother to Tiger and Krishna Shroff.
• The 60-year-old film producer was born to a Bengali father, Ranjan Dutt, and a Belgian mother, Claude Marie Dutt De Cavey. Her father was an Air Vice Marshal in the Indian Air Force.
• Ayesha and Jackie Shroff run a media company called Jackie Shroff Entertainment Limited.
• In 2009, Ayesha had an alleged affair with actor Sahil Khan after starting a production company together. The alleged relationship of the two and their business took a twisted turn in 2014 when she filed a legal case against Khan.
• Regarding the recent FIR case, Ayesha Shroff has been defending her son online. She mentioned how no one is interested in roaming around during the pandemic.
• Ayesha added how her son has been helping people out during the pandemic and no one talks about it. “Instead of bringing people down how come no one writes about the free meals he’s providing to front-line workers!! That’s because he himself doesn’t talk about it. So don’t judge,” she wrote. The Instagram post now stands deleted.
