#SAG2016: Our three golds - Mary Kom, Sarita Devi & Pooja Rani

MC Mary Kom, Pooja Rani and L Sarita Devi helped India pick all the three gold medals in women's boxing in the 12th South Asian Games Finals on Tuesday.

Recovered from a shoulder injury and became a far rude attacker than before, London Olympics bronze-medallist Mary Kom (51kg) was on a comeback trail. She knocked down her seasoned Sri Lankan rival Anusha Kodituwakku Dilrukshi and won via Technical Knockout. The opponent could hardly bear her strikes for less than 90 seconds.

From the very start, Anusha became the victim of Mary Kom’s powerful pounds and soon enough got floored. And while defending the strikes injured her right knee. The North Eastern Hill University in the outskirts of the city was brimming with Kom lovers today and at the end of the game, the complex  echoed with a loud cheer when the Lankan lost the challenge against Kom.

When Asked about her opponent Mary Kom told PTI: "I'm so happy when anyone challenges me, I don't comment before the bout. But deep inside, I was very positive. After children, the comeback is not easy. I still do training to motivate myself. I'm thankful to my entire team,".

Following her whopping energy, the other two aces also got enthused. Incheon Asian Games bronze-medallist Pooja Rani Devi also disclosed the competition by winning over Nilanthi Andaraweer by a TKO in a bout lasting only one round (75kg).

After her one-year ban following the infamous Asian Games meltdown, Sarita Devi faced off a challenge against Sri Lankan M Vidushika Prabadhi and won.
