Rio 2016: Indian Women’s hockey team unwinds with some sightseeing

As the athletes land in Rio for the Olympics,  no doubt they are excited and nervous at the same time to be part of one of the biggest sporting events in the world. And before the competition starts full swing, and tensions begin to rise, doesn't hurt to unwind a bit, does it? So, our Women Hockey team decided to do some sight seeing and post some fun pictures.

Indian Women’s hockey team All smiles: The Indian Women’s hockey team at Rio de Janeiro

Having qualified for the Olympics after a long gap of 36 years, no doubt the team members are all smiles. Also their preparation matches on tour of North America where they won two matches against the Canadian and one match against the USA national teams have left them in a positive frame of mind coming into Rio.

Coached by Neil Hawgood, the players have a brand new Captain, Sushila Chanu, for the Games. The Hockey India women’s team features in Pool B and will play against Argentina, Australia, Great Britain, USA and Japan.  The nation will be rooting for them!
