The police headquarters has sent a letter to the superintendent of police of all 33 districts of the state, requesting them to screen the Shoojit Sircar-produced film immediately in order to make them sensitive while dealing with crimes against women.
The whole idea of having a movie hour, especially for the police, is to motivate them on how they can act more promptly to deliver justice in cases of harassment, torture or any crime against women, thus becoming more sensitive towards women’s dignity and rights.
The ADG’s letter also appreciated Pink’s strong and impactful message of depicting gender equality and gender sensitivity. The film could also teach women the methods to defend themselves in a dire situation.
“The letter from the police state headquarters, Jaipur, regarding mass screening of movie ‘Pink’ to the police personnel was received in the last week of September, following which officials at police stations were directed for the screening of the same,” said Rajendra Verma, Additional Superintend of Police (ASP), as per an NDTV report.
