You have seen her wow gymnastic moves in the 2016 Rio Summer Olympics and couldn’t get over it. Now you will see her groove to music because Olympic gold medalist Simone Biles has given her nod to participate in Season 24 of “Dancing with the Stars”.
“I think just generally dancing in heels and dancing with a partner because I’ve never experienced that before. [Sasha Farber] is the first guy I’ve danced with,” a nervous Biles told Fox News on Wednesday as the gymnast will dance with a guy for the first time in a series.
Dancing with partner Sasha Farber would be a new first for Biles who said, “It’s going good,” indicating about her “DWTS” partner and adding that she is in good hands. “I think our personalities go well with each other and he’s very patient, so I like that.”
Turning 20 this month, Biles is following fellow gymnast Laurie Hernandez’s profile, who was a winner in the last season. Being an athlete, she definitely has an additional advantage which would work as icing on the cake for her in the competition.
“We know the long hours you have to put in to do the job that you want,” Biles said.
Biles is known as the four-time gold medalist and 33-year-old Farber is a professional hoofer. Together, their main task now is to suggest a name for their pairing on the show.
Having 5.2M followers, Biles also will have a challenging dance face-off with another Olympian in the new season of the ABC competition show. Ice skater Nancy Kerrigan is one of Biles’ competitors.
“I think as an athlete, we’re used to being coached,” Kerrigan told Fox News. “I think having performed to music, I have a little bit of an advantage. I’m hoping that helps.”
Biles also appeared in the latest Sports Illustrated swimsuit issue and fans went crazy. She recently was seen doing many public appearances across the country.
Season 24 of “Dancing With the Stars”, the dancing contest, airs on March 20 on ABC.
