Who Is Sharmistha Dubey: Mahindra Group Chairman Anand Mahindra recently hailed Sharmistha Dubey, an Indian-American CEO, for leading global matchmaking sites.

On Twitter, he shared a New York Times article on Texas new abortion law and wrote, "Have to admit, this is the first time I have learned about her. Is she not often cited in the lists of global Indian-origin CEOs because the companies she leads are matchmaking sites?" He said adding that she deserves to be in the spotlight.

She is also one of the very few CEOs who have a take on Texas' restrictive abortion law. She also took the initiative of creating a fund to support Texas-based workers and dependents who needed to seek care outside of the state. This was after Texas imposed a ban on abortions after weeks six weeks of pregnancy.

  • After joining Match.com in 2006, she handled multiple leadership positions. For instance, she became the President of Match Group Americas and also the chief product officer of Match besides other roles.

  • "I worked with cultural biological anthropologists and research scientists. I studied a lot of data and I developed this instinct over time of where to look and what to look for. But my curiosity about human interaction between people gave me a good advantage when I got here,” she said in an interview with Vogue.
  • In 2017, she became the Chief Operating Officer (COO) of Tinder in 2017.
  • Next year on January 1, 2018 she was appointed President of Match group.
  • In 2019, she joined the board of directors of the Group.
  • In 2020, she became the CEO of Match Group. It now owns and operates the largest global portfolio of popular online dating services that include 45 global dating companies including Tinder, Match.com, Meetic, OkCupid, Hinge.
