Songadh: Pastor And His Wife Arrested In Connection With Rape Of 16-Year-Old Girl

Songadh Pastor Arrested For Raping Minor: A 39-year-old pastor was arrested for allegedly raping a 16-year-old girl in a village of Songadh taluka of Tapi district in Gujarat. The accused's wife has also been arrested for her part in the crime. The accused and his wife have been presented in front of the magistrate and taken for four days of police custody starting from December 29, yesterday.

The paster arrested is Baliram Kokni and his wife Anita. The paster for rape and his wife for allegedly taking pictures and videos to use as blackmail to the survivor. The incident took place in May this year when it wasn't reported. But according to the investigating officers the survivor might have been unable to lodge a case as the couple might have threatened to release the pictures and videos online.

The survivor had filed the case against the accused and his wife on December 28, Tuesday, at Songadh Police Station. Within a few hours, the police arrested the accused and his wife. The two accused were presented in front of the magistrate yesterday.

Talking about the incident, the police said that the accused built contact with the survivor when she came to pray at the church. The survivor is the daughter of a farm labourer and goes to work with her parents. The accused then allegedly called the survivor to meet him alone and the incident took place. The case is being investigated by the Deputy Superintendent of Police Tapi, RL Mavani.

However, the police did not know about the videos and pictures allegedly used by the accused to blackmail the survivor and are still investigating it.
