PV Sindhu produced a brilliant performance to clinch the India Open Super Series 21-19, 21-16 in the summit clash against Carolina Marin.
India's Olympic Silver Medalist PV Sindhu was eyeing glory as she took on fellow Olympian and current world champion Carolina Marin. Sindhu had a solid run in the last few days as she beat Saina Nehwal and Sung ji-Hyun to make it to the final.
The competition between Sindhu and Marin was a repeat of the 2016 Rio Olympic final which saw the Spaniard taking away the gold medal in a hard-fought encounter. One has to give Sindhu the credit for showing her ever-rising game, especially in the cross-court net-game and defence.
Here in front of her fans in New Delhi, Sindhu posted her triumph in 46 minutes.
