UP Man, Jealous Of Wife's Instagram Following, Strangles Her To Death

In a horrifying incident from Lucknow, a man strangled his wife to death in front of his kids as he was jealous of her Instagram following. 

As per the police, the victim woman enjoyed a substantial following on Instagram and had reportedly blocked her husband which led him to also doubt that some of her followers would visit her in his absence.

As per the reports, the horrific incident occurred on Sunday morning around 5 am on Purvanchal Expressway when the family embarked on their journey to Rae Bareilly when the man diverted his car to Purvanchal Expressway where the couple engaged in a heated argument which led the man to strangle his wife to death in his SUV in front of their two kids near Mujesh intersection, Sultanpur. 

As per the police, the 37-year-old businessman then locked himself inside the car while his two children were left traumatised and screaming when the patrolling team found the parked car suspicious as the two kids were standing outside the car. The patrolling team immediately informed the nearest police station. When the teams arrived at the crime scene, the daughter of the accused disclosed her father's harrowing crime which led to his arrest on the basis of his daughter's testimony. 

While the identities of the accused and the victim are not disclosed, the accused was a businessman owning a tours and travel agency while his wife was a homemaker. The couple shared two kids, a 12-year-old daughter and a 5-year-old son. The family is said to be residents of the Para locality in Lucknow. 

As per Kurebhar SHO Praveen Kumar Yadav, the motives of the man behind murdering his wife appear to be a deep-rooted inferiority complex emanating from the substantial Instagram following that the victim enjoyed. The victim-wife had purportedly blocked her husband which had added more to his insecurities. The accused husband suspected that some of the victim's social media followers would visit her in his absence. 

The victim's Instagram account is currently locked and private, and remains to be examined by the authorities.
