Man Kills Sister For Inter-Faith Relationship; Mom Dies Rescuing Her

In another shocking case of honour killing, a man killed his sister over her interfaith relationship with a Muslim man. The brother-sister duo had a fight post in which the brother pushed the sister into the lake of the Marur village in Hunsur taluk of Karnataka. The mother of the duo too jumped into the lake to save the daughter. Unfortunately, she too lost her life. Read on to learn more about the incident.

As per the reports, the 19-year-old Dhanushree was not on talking terms with her brother Nitin for the past few months. On the dreading night of Tuesday, the brother-sister duo got into a heated argument. The brother Nitin was constantly forcing Dhanushree to quit the relationship with a Muslim man. But Dhanushree denied it and ended up losing her life. The 43-year-old mother jumped into the lake to save her drowning daughter. But fate had some other plan. She too lost her life. 

Nitin then reached out to a relative to borrow money to buy petrol. But the suspicious relative reached out to the Police. The relative said, "He returned and got me to the spot. I went to the police station and filed a complaint." 

Subsequently, the police reached the spot, pulled out the two bodies from the lake and sent them for post-mortem. They also arrested Nitin for the murder. 

Another case of honour killing

A young couple in Bihar was shot dead along with their one-year-old daughter on Tuesday evening. The couple had eloped in 2021 after a relationship of four years. The girl's family members are believed to be the prime suspects. It happened at 4:30 pm in Nawtolia village under Gopalpur police station of Bihar’s Nawgachhia police district. According to the reports, the couple had arrived in their village with their daughter to meet the man's family. The man, identified as Chandan Kumar Singh, 23, married Chandni Kumari, 21, after they eloped in 2021. However, Chandan Kumar's family had agreed to accept the duo but Chandni's family didn't want them anywhere close.
