Television actress Kamya Punjabi extended her support to Devoleena Bhattacharjee on Twitter stating that she too had fought for justice once. She was referring to Pratyusha Banerjee suicide case. After actress Divya Bhatnagar's tragic death, her friend and colleague Bhattacharjee, the actor starring in television drama Saath Nibhana Saathiya, started seeking justice for her. She claimed that Bhatnagar, who died of COVID-19 complications, was facing domestic abuse at the hands of her husband, Gaggan Gabru. Now, Punjabi said that she can see herself in Bhattacharjee as the "way you are fighting for your friend right now, I did the same few years back." Expressing that she fought until the end but "nothing happened!" Punjabi further added, "Jaan ki koi keemat nahi hai yahan.. I will pray you get justice! Divya get justice! Pratyusha get justice. Stay strong!"
Punjabi is recalling the time she spoke up about her late friend Pratyusha Banerjee who died by suicide. In her tweet, agreeing to her comments, Bhattacharjee tweeted, "I know what happened then. And I can see what's happening now and this is so so sad. Thank you so much for motivating me. Actually jaan ki koi keemat nahi hai yahan..People are so insensitive and heartless nowadays..Choti soch aur chota mann...#JusticeForDivyaBhatnagar"
Bhatnagar was hospitalised at Mumbai’s SevenHills hospital after contracting novel coronavirus in November and was in a critical condition as her oxygen level dropped to 71. The 34-year-old actress had been undergoing COVID-19 treatment and was put on ventilator support during her last few days. She was reportedly suffering from pneumonia for many days. The Yeh Rishta Kya Kehlata Hai actress passed away in Mumbai on December 7 at the age of 34.

Following her death, Bhattacharjee accused Gagan Gabru of physically and mentally harassing the late actress. She posted multiple videos in which she made a shocking revelation about Bhatnagar’s husband. “She had just decided to live independently, to not fall into anyone’s trap. I feel that God wasn’t able to see her suffering," she stated.
She further said, “I’m making this video because I have to talk about the mental stress and physical abuse that she had to suffer, and the man who is responsible for it.” She continued, “I am talking about you, Gagan Gabru. You posted that Divya’s mother and brother were against your relationship and that they were getting publicity because of you. Who are you? You are nothing. You came here and begged for her acceptance. I cut off ties with her for four years because of you. Who are you to give publicity, I’ll give you publicity now."
