On December 21, in Baharampur village, near UP's Ghaziabad, a triangular live-in situation of an estranged couple ended up with the gruesome murder of a 26-year-old bike taxi driver Shivam by his wife Priyanka (25) and her lover Garjan (23), a daily wage worker living under the same roof with the couple.

Triangular Live-In Ends In Grisly Murder Of Husband By Lover

The accused's wife had earlier reportedly run away with her lover and had started living with him. It was her husband who convinced her to move back home with him and compromised by agreeing to let her lover live with them under the same roof in their one-bedroom apartment. Priyanka had also taken her 2-year-old daughter with her while running away from her matrimonial house.

"For the love of his life and his child, he agreed to the arrangement his wife proposed," said ACP Saloni.

However, the strangeness of the arrangement soon began as an issue that bothered everyone involved in the set-up as Shivam and Priyanka who now began living with Garjan in a one-bedroom apartment began fighting over the affair.

Purportedly, Priyanka and her lover were fed up with the fights and decided to end the husband's life. The two accused then covered the body in a blanket and dumped it in a nearby plot of their house.

However, a passerby reported to the police after he found Shivam's dead body in a plot. After the police approached Priyanka, she initially told the investigators that her husband left for work at night and did not return. She had introduced Garjan as their relative living with them for the time being. Based on Priyanka's complaint, an FIR was lodged under IPC 302 (murder) and police began a probe into the murder. It was a blood stain on one of the walls of their building that finally disclosed the entire crime activity, and eventually the murderers.

As the accused were immediately detained based on the results of the test and finding evidence in their house, Priyanka ended up confessing her crimes and the two were taken under judicial custody. The police have also informed Shivam's family in Jalaun.
