• #NationalFilmAwards: ‘Pink’ Is Best Film On Social Issues, ‘Neerja’ Best Hindi Film

    The list of winners of the 64th National Film Awards were declared on Friday, April 7. And, it’s a moment to rejoice because Amitabh Bachchan and Taapsee Pannu-starrer “Pink” has bagged the Award for Best Film on Social Issues.

    The Shoojit Sircar-produced film was the hot topic of discussion because of its intriguing and eye-opening content. It projected that what women mean, do or are supposed to act on – none of these gives rights to men to overpower them against their will. In short – “NO MEANS (clear) NO”.

    PINK and its message: Courtroom drama to ground realities

    Pink indeed brings out the reality women face and as a society how we keep on avoiding their freedom of choices.

    • Meanwhile, Sonam Kapoor-starrer Neerja was awarded the Best Hindi film for 2016. This was another movie that showcases women power.

    • Akshay Kumar won best actor for ‘Rustom’ and Surabhi Lakshmi won best actress for ‘Minnaminungu’.

    • The best Feature Film went to Marathi film ‘Kaasav’.

    • Nagesh Kukunoor’s ‘Dhanak’ grabbed the Best Children Film award while ‘The Eyes Of Darkness’ received a Special Mention.
