Mobbed By Cuteness: Baby-Wearing Flash Mob In NCR

This Christmas, 18 mothers from across Delhi came together to set a new milestone -- they were part of the first ever baby-wearing flash mob in Delhi, yesterday. Mothers with infants as young as 2 months joined the flash mob to groove to the universal, Jingle Bells. The event was very well received by the people present at Galleria Market, Gurugram, and the audience even asked for a repeat performance.

The initiative had a bigger message behind it -- creating awareness about baby-wearing.
Shefali Tiwari and Manisha Mehani of Little Hugs Sling Library told SheThePeople that wearing babies have multiple benefits, one of them being that the mother can be hands-free. They stressed on the fact that baby-wearing also increases the mother-baby bonding.
Ketika Kapoor, founder, ProEves, a Delhi-based childcare & maternity solutions company, says that a survey shows that participation of women in India Inc. is stuck at less than 20% and one of the major reasons is pregnancy and eventually having a baby. This can be tackled by wearing babies, which is in fact an age-old tradition and is still followed in the rural areas of India.
