The debate about which of Marvel Comics’ superheroes is the smartest comes to an end with the Comics giant announcing it to be Moon Girl last week. The comic writers Brandon Montclair and Amy Reeder declared that Lunella Lafayette from the ‘Moon Girl and Devil Dinosaurs’ series is by far the most intelligent character in the Marvel universe at the San Diego Comic-Con.
“There’s always been a healthy debate about which super-genius is the smartest. Is it Tony Stark? Reed Richards? Victor Von Doom? Hank Pym? Amadeus Cho? The answer is gonna shock the Marvel Universe when it’s revealed to be 9-year-old Inhuman Lunella Lafayette,” said Mark Paniccia, a senior editor at Marvel to Buzzfeed News.
Part of Lunella’s super genius power comes from the fact that she carries a certain inhumane gene, which makes her super smart. The two series of Moon Girl and Devil Dinosaurs is currently selling hot online and is going to make a comeback in October with its third arc. In the next series, she is going to fight some of the most difficult science challenges to save the world. This is the first time that a girl will be taking over every other superhero in the intellect quotient.
“In the third arc of Moon Girl and Devil Dinosaur, Lunella faces an impossible half-dozen science-challenges that might not only prove her smarts, but also save the world. It’s also going to guest star some of Marvel’s biggest names, too. Hulk, Dr. Strange, the X-Men, The Thing and more,” added Paniccia.
Earlier it was Reed Richards, Mister Fantastic from the Fantastic Four who was considered the smartest of them all but Lunella is a great sign of growing popularity of female superhero characters.
Marvel is soon realizing the worth of the other half of the world’s population, and we sure are loving such recognition.
