• Marilyn Monroe’s Iconic Dress Sold For Rs 32 Cr

    The dress that former actress Marilyn Monroe wore during her famous birthday song for US President John F. Kennedy in 1962 has been sold for Rs 32 crore or $4.8 million. It is now the most expensive dress to be sold.

    According to a Reuters, museum chain Ripley’s Believe it or Not bought the dress at a special auction held in Beverly Hills last week. The dress’ previous owner was the late fund manager Martin Zweig who had bought it from Christies in 1999 for $1.26 million.

    The nude coloured dress features over 2,500 hand-stitched crystals and is said to be so tight that Monroe had to be sewn into it!

    Monroe serenaded Kennedy at Madison Square Gardens in New York, on his 45th birthday. The performance was so scintillating that it sparked rumours of an affair between Monroe and Kennedy!
