Malala voted the most admired woman in India

According to a survey conducted by YouGov, a British market research company, Malala Yousafzai is the most admired woman in India and the second most admired woman in the world.

A survey conducted by YouGov, a British market research company, revealed that Nobel Peace Prize laureate Malala Yousafzai is the most admired woman in India, ahead of Kiran Bedi who ranked second, Angelina Jolie who ranked third, Hillary Clinton being fourth, Sonia Gandhi taking the sixth place, Aung San Suu Kyi being seventh, Michelle Obama- eighth and Oprah Winfrey ranking tenth.

 

World over, however, Malala Yousazai ranked second with actress and filmmaker, Angelina Jolie being the most admired woman in the world. Jolie underwent a preventive double mastectomy after learning she had an 87% risk of developing breast cancer due to a defective BRCA1 gene in 2013. Considered to be one of the most beautiful actresses in the world this sent a powerful message to women all across the world. Jolie has also received wide recognition for her humanitarian work.

Malala Yousafzai, who received a Nobel Prize for her efforts in actively promoting women’s rights to education, is a Pakistani national and also took a potentially fatal bullet for the cause. Kiran Bedi, a former IPS officer and one of the prime candidates for the post of CM in Delhi, came after Yousafzai.

The poll was taken by 25, 000 people from 34 countries and surprisingly Yousafzai ranked the first on the list of Sweden and Norway as well.
