Women’s safety is huge issue in India. With numerous incidents of women harassment and abuse coming forward in the media, the world has now taken notice of the situation, and the Indian government has been widely criticized by the media for its lack of efforts to protect the women.

 

Arvind Kejriwal’s Aam Aadmi Party has however announced that 26th of November, will now be celebrated as ‘Women’s Safety Day,’ at a public meeting at Jantar Mantar, held on Saturday. This day will also be the Aam Aadmi Party’s second founding anniversary.

 

After failed efforts from all other resources, the AAP, which claims that they always deliver on their promises may give some relief to women of the state. Promising to support the youth, the Party chief has shown commitment to the grave problem of women’s safety in the national capital.

Since the 16th December Gang-Rape, the lack of safety measures available for women were bought to the limelight and the government has since claimed many efforts in the direction, but to no relief. Kejrival while addressing a crowd of 5000 people also vowed to provide better sports infrastructure by building stadia in the city.

 

He said that during the 49days his party was in power, they delivered on all of their promises. With upcoming elections in Delhi, he also announced that if AAP comes into power then e-rickshaws will be allowed to ply on the roads.

He added that AAP government will establish 20 new colleges in Delhi and will increase the number of seats in the existing colleges to aid the youth of Delhi. The AAP chief promised to ensure that every student will get admission in a college in Delhi after passing from school.
