PepsiCo’s CEO and Chairperson Indra Nooyi is going to be a part of the United States President-elect Donald Trump’s economic advisory council. Trump’s transition team announced the list of the 19-member panel on Wednesday this week.

PepsiCo’s CEO and Chairperson Indra Nooyi is going to be a part of the United States President-elect Donald Trump’s economic advisory council. Trump’s transition team announced the list of the 19-member panel on Wednesday this week.

Chennai born Indian-American Nooyi had frankly taken Democratic presidential nominee Hillary Clinton’s side during the US elections. “I had to answer a lot of questions from my daughters, from our employees. They were all in mourning,” she had said at a conference in New York, a day after Trump won the elections, as reported by Scroll.

Uber chief executive Travis Kalanick, Jamie Dimon of Chase, Mary Barra of General Motors and SpaceX and Tesla chairperson Elon Musk are also a part of this economic advisory council. The council will help Trump in forming the economic agenda as President of the country.

The President-elect's transition team said, “The forum is designed to provide direct input to the President from many of the best and brightest in the business world in a frank, non-bureaucratic and non-partisan manner.”

Stephen A Schwarzman, chairperson, CEO and co-founder of investment firm Blackstone, will be the chief and will head the forum.

“America has the most innovative and vibrant companies in the world, and the pioneering CEOs joining this Forum today are at the top of their fields," Mr Trump said, as quoted by NDTV.

"My administration is going to work together with the private sector to improve the business climate and make it attractive for firms to create new jobs across the United States from Silicon Valley to the heartland," he added.

Nooyi (61) is suitable to be appointed as the America’s President’s Strategic and Policy Forum as she heads the company with an annual revenue of $63 billion that employs 110,000 people.
