With many gender issues constantly being discussed throughout the nation, Clinton has often discussed the need for a gender neutral work environment for women. The Daily Life reports a set of guidelines proposed by Clinton to ensure this.

1.Standing up for other women

Clinton shares that she doesn’t respond to sexist comments directed at her but if it’s about other women or her sex in general, she always speaks out. She adds, “…if women in general are being degraded, are being dismissed, then I can respond in a way that demonstrates I'm not taking it personally but I'm really serious about rejecting that kind of behaviour."

2.Ask for help

Clinton believes many women feel that if they ask for help they will be seen as weak. The former State of Secretary says it is okay to ask for help sometimes.

3. Don’t be stuck up about Perfection

Women are too often running behind achieving perfection. Men according to Clinton aren’t like that. One should learn to seize an opportunity instead of waiting around for things to be perfect.

4.Grow a thick skin.

She feels that when women get angry about biased behavior or feel sorry for themselves because of it; they are just playing into the hands of sexists.

5.Patience and Determination

Clinton feels that women have a number of opportunities today. “…one of the most powerful women in American politics is Nancy Pelosi. She had five children. She didn't go into politics until her youngest child was in high school.... That's one of the great things about being a woman in today's world: You have a much longer potential work life than our mothers or our grandmothers did,” she adds.
