• Girl’s Emotional Thank You Note To Her Single Dad Says It All

There’s nothing more empowering than being a single parent. This daughter’s touching letter to her feminist dad — briefly thanking him for the emotional father-daughter stories that he helped her script — is inspiring to all.

“Thank you for never being too embarrassed to do the Girl Stuff,” Tiana Sheehan writes

Her father being the ‘champ’ that he is, donning the hat of fatherhood and she being the perfect daughter there ever could be, both make a great tale.

“I’ll never forget the look on my dad’s face when I told him I wanted to shave my legs,” says Tiana

Tiana lost her mom to lung cancer when she was just 9. Since then, her superdad, Glenn Sheehan, took care of the little girl, shared moments with her as a friend and to thank her dad for raising her with “a lot of love” as a single parent, Tiana posted a heartwarming message on Facebook, dedicated to him, because sometimes just hugs and kisses aren’t enough.

Soon the social media page Love What Matters singled out Tiana’s post as a tribute to her single dad. She illustrated how single dads always support their girl child and never stop fighting for the rights all women deserve. And, in return, don’t get the credit they deserve. She wrote that she is what she is today because of a superman who tirelessly made efforts to bring her in to that place from where she could proudly say that she has been raised by a single parent and it’s worth it. She expresses her gratitude to him for a beautiful life.

“I remember coming up to dad and being so embarrassed to ask him for help, but man, did he handle it like a champ! For a moment he put his head down; and then he turned the TV off, took me into the bathroom, gave me a new blade on his razor, gave me his shaving cream, and taught me how to shave my legs.”

    The daddy’s girl writes:

“Single dads don’t get the credit they deserve; especially mine and all dads who are left playing both roles. There was never a time in my childhood where I truly thought I was missing out on anything. My dad was so good at fulfilling both roles and making sure my childhood was as normal as possible; that there was never a time I thought Life or God had screwed me over. My dad handled everything: periods, shaving, broken hearts, catty girlfriends – you name it and my dad took it like a champ.”

She thanks him more for being an excellent — mother and father — to her and says that he never shied away from his responsibilities.

“Dad, I know I haven’t said it enough, so here’s a big public THANK YOU for never, ever, ever being too much of a man to be my mom. Thank you for never being too embarrassed to do the girl stuff you had to do, thank you for never making it embarrassing for me to ask you for help. Growing up without a mom is obviously something no one ever wants, but growing up with you was the best.”
