Charlize Theron Says Women "Raise The Bar" In Fast and Furious 9

Hollywood actor Charlize Theron will be seen in the upcoming action flick Fast and Furious 9. She spoke about the importance of women in the Fast and Furious world.

She talked about the film in a video released by the makers of the film, titled Fast and Fearless: The Women of Fast and Furious 9. “Fast females take ownership of it. They raise the bar. They do the unexpected,” says Charlize Theron in the video.

Besides Charlize Theron, the film has an impressive female cast comprising of actors Michelle Rodriguez, Nathalie Emmanuel and Helen Mirren.

The action-packed video showcased the women performing numerous stunts. Actor Michelle Rodriguez had a lot to say about her experience in the film. “The film really sheds light on the female voice in action movies. In this movie, we are not holding back when it comes to the action," she said.

Fast and Furious 9 is all set to release on July 8 this year. It was originally supposed to release on May 22, 2020, but its release date was pushed forward due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

The film's trailer was released about a month ago and promised to showcase more action this time. As for the film's story, it will showcase Dom Toretto's (Vin Diesel) confrontation with the sins of his past. His otherwise quiet life with his wife and son gets disrupted. He then joins hands with his crew to hinder a plot that threatens to shatter the world. However, the plot is led by the most skilled assassin and driver who turns out to be Dom's forsaken brother, Jakob (John Cena).

The film has been directed by Justin Lin who also penned the script along with Daniel Casey. Justin Lin had previously directed the third, fourth, fifth and sixth instalments of the Fast and Furious franchise.
