“Goodness, I wish I could cast a vote,” said Emma Watson, indicating the drama surrrounding the US presidential election. With just 11 days remaining for America to get a new president, Watson urged Americans to vote for the one who cares about women and girls. Clearly it’s a dig at Donald Trump.
The British actress, who is also the UN Women Global Goodwill Ambassador, tweeted:
This clearly hints at the various allegations of sexual harassment and assault on women that Donald Trump was held responsible for. Also, the outspoken feminist made a point by bringing in the statistics of 70 million women versus 60 million men voters in the last US election, which means if women in America are willing to change the course of the election outcome, they will succeed.
We have earlier seen Watson supporting Hillary Clinton at the Museum of Modern Art in Manhattan in September when she said: “I don’t know if I would have believed you if you had told me two years ago — before I made my HeforShe speech — that we might have the first female president of the United States.”
