• DU initiative to promote women entrepreneurs

After the IIT’s initiative to promote women entrepreneurs, the Delhi University has come up with a Skill Enhancement Programme for Prospective Women Entrepreneurs. Cluster Innovation Centre (CIC), the brainchild of Delhi University and Centre for Science Education and Communication (CSEC), a division of CIC, are behind the initiative.

The inaugural session of the programme had women from different age groups and categories like students, working women and start-up founders etc. They all got a chance to interact with experts in the field to find solutions to their queries. Many returned from the meet with great ideas.

Entrepreneurship is taught in a real-life scenario. Women are born entrepreneurs as they have the ability to manage and do things in an organised manner. The emphasis is on nurturing their skills and providing them a conducive environment and adequate platform to excel in entrepreneurship. This is the first initiative DU has taken; There is a need to include more of such programmes,” said Prof M M Chaturvedi, director of CIC, to The Statesman.

Such initiatives will definitely go a long way in shaping future entrepreneurs.
