Difficult pregnancy, Beyoncé Visual Album

The widely anticipated annual music festival in Indio, California, has missed female names for 10 years now since Björk fired up the stage as the last “female-centric” act to headline Coachella ">in 2007. But not anymore! Because this time, our very own Beyoncé scripted history by becoming another woman to finally be on the list of headliners.

The 2017 Coachella Valley Music & Arts Festival recently unveiled its headliners for this year’s desert revelry and guess whose name is on the list? The famous singer who was also nominated for nine Grammy Awards this year -- Beyoncé.

It is known that the festival is strictly male stage dominated -- year after year -- but Beyoncé's name showing up on the performance lineup surely broke norms. She is not only the next solo woman since Bjork but also is the first Black female act ever to headline the Coachella stage.

Known for her electrifying shows, including "album of the year" for "Lemonade", the 35 year-old singer will be up on stage with Kendrick Lamar and Radiohead as the acts leading this year's event at the Empire Polo Club. The “Formation” singer has a huge fan following and her latest world tour raked in over $200 million.

Last April, the Los Angeles Times published an article titled “Coachella: Plenty of Bros, But Where Are the Female Headliners?”  According to the reports, the same fest had a minimal number of females on stage, but this time there was about 16 per cent improvement from 2015.
