The Madame Tussauds wax museum will soon welcome one more prominent Indian — the legendary Asha Bhosle. The veteran singer is all set to join the celebrity squad of Amitabh Bachchan, Sachin Tendulkar and Kapil Dev at India’s first upcoming Madame Tussauds wax museum in New Delhi, reports news agency IANS.
After serenading us with her evergreen voice for over six decades, Bhosle’s wax figure will be displayed in the Bollywood music zone along with other leading singers.
“Thank you to Madame Tussauds and my fans for considering me for this incredible honour. Having a wax figure is a completely ecstatic feeling and it’s a new experience for me. This is the first time I have undergone a sitting and I must thank them for making it a unique and exciting experience,” Bhosle (83), said in a statement, reports IANS.
The news agency also reported that Bhosle has already given her measurements and images to a team of experts from Madame Tussauds last year for the specifications.
“I am excited to see and meet my final figure when the attraction opens. Madame Tussauds is a ‘one-of-a-kind’ attraction and is a rage across the world and I am looking forward to the launch and opening in Delhi,” the singer said.
Located at the Regal Cinema building in Connaught Place, the Madame Tussauds wax museum in Delhi will have a grand opening in a couple of months.
