The earlier plan was to launch it on September 28 but officiating got a bit delayed. Inspector general Navniet Sekera, said to TOI, “The UP chief minister will inaugurate the Centre through video conferencing next week.”
According to Sekera who visited Noida on Wednesday and inspected the Women Powerline Centre, earlier the calls were being disrupted due to some landing issues in the Delhi police control room. But the officials have managed to fix the problem. ”There are some technical problems in calls which are dialled from the NCR border areas. That too will be resolved soon,” Sekera added.
According to the National Crime Records Bureau (NCRB), a total of 3.37 lakh incidents of atrocities against women were registered in 2014 of which Uttar Pradesh alone registered a total of 38,467 cases (11.4%).
We hope the initiative helps us build a safe city for women in all manners.
