Woman's Unusual Nap in Plane's Overhead Bin Stuns Internet

The TikTok video, posted by user @gmonique_123, has sparked curiosity and amusement among viewers. While it's not immediately clear whether the woman is a passenger or a flight attendant, the sight of someone lounging in an overhead bin is highly unusual. The caption "Southwest is wild" hints at the surprising nature of the incident.

Commenters on the video expressed a mix of amusement and puzzlement. One user humorously remarked, "How did she get up there? And she’s just chillin’ out, maxin’, relaxin’ all cool." Another joked about Southwest Airlines' open seating policy, saying, "Southwest does allow you to choose your own seat." Others commented on the perceived comfort of the overhead bin compared to regular seats. "That looks way more comfortable than the actual seats. Give me a pillow and close the hatch," one user quipped.

This isn't the first time Southwest Airlines has made headlines for unconventional behaviour by its flight attendants. In 2019, passengers boarding a flight from Nashville to Philadelphia witnessed a flight attendant climbing into an overhead bin as a humorous stunt. The airline responded by describing it as a lighthearted moment.

In a statement addressing the 2019 incident, Southwest Airlines acknowledged that such antics are not standard procedure but underscored its employees' penchant for demonstrating humour and unique personalities.

Interestingly, this incident is not the first of its kind involving someone found lounging in an overhead storage compartment. In a similar event last year in June, passengers were left baffled when a man was filmed waking up in the overhead storage bin on a Ryanair flight departing from Ibiza, Spain.

The video, which has been viewed 592,000 as of Sunday, was posted by Australian house music producer Dominic Matheson showing the partied-out passenger secured in the overhead bin.
